my favorite interval training

Yesterday I got up early to have enough time between breakfast and my run at 9am. It was quite windy and 8 degrees, but at least it stopped raining 30min before I went for my run. I did a 10min warm-up jog and started with the interval. I did a 5 – 5 – 4 – 4 – 3 – 3 – 2 – 2 – 1 – 1 – 30 sec one, that means 5min fast, 5min slow, 4min fast, 4min slow and so on. It's my absolute favorite one because you go faster the shorter the intervals get and you almost sprint the last one, it's so much fun. The 5min one was a bit too slow though so it wasn't too hard, but I didn't want to go all out in the first interval already. The 4min however was quite a bit faster and I felt tired at the end of it (just how it's supposed to be :)). The last one was the hardest as it was only 30 sec long and I went all out, but it was such a good training. I made sure I got something to eat and enough rest after the run because I had another training in the evening.

The weather in the evening looked ok, it was cloudy but didn't look like it's gonna rain, so I decided to drive to the track for club training even though I would have much rather stayed home. When I got there it turned out that the track was too wet to skate on so I drove back home again (I was gone for 55min only to drive down to the track and back when I could have stayed home in the first place. Yeah well…). I quickly got changed and set up my bike to do an hour on the wind trainer. Just because the track was wet didn't mean I'd get the evening off :). I did a warm-up for 5min, went easy for 10min, harder for 15min, easy for 5min, harder for 15min and easy again for 5min and then did a cool-down for another 5min. It wasn't too hard but not too easy either, so I think it was ok because I was still a bit tired from training in the morning, even though my legs held up a lot better than I thought they would. I had pasta for dinner and went to bed at 9pm already because I was tired and had a bit of a headache.

Today is rest day. I'm really glad about that because my body really needs a rest and training at the weekend is gonna be hard again. I'm not going to do too much today, just rest, relax and eat pizza for dinner :D. My boyfriend is coming home this afternoon as well (after looooong 12 days) so I'm looking forward to that.
