off-skate on a slippery helipad = strained muscle

Thursday was supposed to be my day off from training, but Vicky, a girl from skating asked me if I come train with her. I got up pretty early again (before my boyfriend left for work), had breakfast and talked to my mum on Skype for two hours. After that I did the laundry, checked my emails and then it was time for lunch already. I only had a couple of slices of bread so nothing fancy, shaved my legs and got changed. I rode my bike to Hagley Park where I met Vicky and we did 40min worth of off-skate. We didn't do the whole program though cos she isn't used to it and the breaks were longer too (too much talking…). We did some of the jumps on a helipad which was covered with moss and I was a bit concerned that I might slip and guess what happened?! Yes, of course I slipped and strained my thigh muscle. It didn't hurt too bad so I kept going. After we finished doing off-skate we put our skates on and skated a few laps on the netball court. I showed here some basics (technique) and she tried to do it. Because of that she didn't go fast so when a stone got between her wheels, she fell and broke a piece of her fake tooth off. She also had a graze on her leg but that wasn't too bad. So we stopped skating after 15min already and she went to the dentist to make an appointment and I rode my bike home again. When my boyfriend got home we got ready to go to a Pizzeria in town for our anniversary dinner. It was yuuummy, only did I have a bit of a stomachache afterwards because I ate so much. I also started to feel my strained muscle so I put some axa nova on it.

Today I finally got around to organise my first week of training for the general preparation phase. I am going to start with a 6,5 – 7 hour week to get used to all the training again. On Monday I want to set all my other trainings for the next 2,5 months (that's when the general preparation phase is over). When I woke up, I felt quite a few of my muscles thanks to yesterday's off-skate session and it wasn't even as long and hard as it normally is… So I really do need some time to get used to it again :). I used the day to relax and take care of my muscle. I didn't even do anything interesting, I just wrote emails, looked for jobs, finished watching "Lie To Me", surfed the internet and did some other stuff.
When my boyfriend gets home we have to go to Countdown to buy salad and bread for the weekend. I think we'll go to The Eastgate because I need a new agenda or a day planner or something like that.
