After I had another rest day on Saturday and we went to the hot pools, I had some interval training on my schedule for yesterday.
It was about 5 degrees in the morning and my boyfriend came with me on the bike. We went down to the river because there are (almost) no cars and after the 10min warm-up I did 7 x 2min fast with a 1,5min rest jog in between. The first two intervals didn't feel too great and I felt a bit tired, but I felt way better after the third. I did the last two pretty fast and finished the last one with a sprint. As soon as I finished the sprint, I felt really sick for about 30sec but was good again afterwards. So I jogged home and stretched and had a diet coke :)
In the afternoon we went for a walk in the park as the sun was shining (it was still only 7 degrees though) and bought scales. I haven't weigh myself since I moved to New Zealand so I was pretty curious about my weight. Not that it would have changed a lot, my clothes still fit me and I don't feel fatter or thinner, but I just wanted to make sure :). So as soon as we got home I quickly stood on there and it read 65 kg, so that's my normal weight. But I'll stand on there again tonight without my clothes so it should be around 64kg and I would be more than happy about that as I just ate what I felt like for the last couple of months and didn't count calories or anything, but I think that's the bonus you get if you train that much...
Tomorrow starts the last week of training before the break so I'll make sure to enjoy it, I might even have to start counting calories again because somehow I always eat more when I don't train because I get bored easier and instead of being out training I'll be at home with all the cookies and the chocolate :)
Today I got up at 7:30 am and didn't feel too great. I had breakfast and went out for my interval training at 9:20 am. It was cold (2 degrees) but I was wearing 3/4 pants and a light jacket and still got too hot after the warm-up. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I think there hasn't been one single run so far where I didn't get too hot. Anyways, I did some minute/minute, that means 1min fast, 1min slow for 20min, but didn't go really fast. I made sure that my heart rate was more than 170 during the fast minutes though. I felt my shins (I think I've got shin splints from running on hard surface all the time) and was tired after 30min already. I would have rather walked than jogged the 15min back home but yay, I still made it home :).
After I had a shower and a snack, I wrote applications, had lunch, cleaned the appartment for almost 1,5 hours and because I was tired afterwards, I got comfortable on the couch and watched a German TV program. Liiiiike that! :)
When my boyfriend got home around 5pm it was pretty cold and windy and I had a bit of a stomachache but we still went to the track for club training.
We did a warm-up, followed by some exercises in the corners for 10min, some starts and 6 x 800 meters. I was doing ok in the first one as it wasn't too fast but I started to struggle after the second one. My stomachache got worse as well but I didn't want to stop so I kept going. At the end I was alright and did all 6 800 meters and kept up with the guys. I slipped a couple of times though because the track was a bit wet so that was quite scary, but at least I didn't crash.
After training I was so looking forward to just going home, sit on the couch, be warm and watch tv and that's what I did. I watched Desperate Housewives, had pasta for dinner and snuggled up in my blanket.
